Cooking Schools & Culinary Institutes in the Pacific Northwest  

Cooking is one of those things you can learn to do adequeately on your own, but to raise to the next level, to become a spectacular home cook, professional chef or restauranteur, it takes training.

You can build a great library of cookbooks to begin your culinary training, but when you are ready to take cooking classes, here's a short list of schools offering everything from basic cooking classes to coeur don bleu training.

Washington Culinary Schools

Seattle
Blue Ribbon Cooking Culinary Center
A wonderful experience, especially on a sunny day. Take a class and enjoy the ambiance found on one of Seattle's hidden waterfronts.

Seattle
South Seattle Community College
South Seattle Community College offers both certificate and A.A.S programs in three specialties. Students may graduate with either a Catering and Banquet Operations or Restaurant Food Service Production degree, or a Pastry and Specialty Baking degree. SSCC also offers a Wine Technology program with three certificate options.

Edmonds
Edmonds Community College
Edmonds Community College offers three tracks in it's culinary programs. The Culinary Arts Associate of Technical Arts Degree focuses on three areas: food preparation, service, and management. The one year Baking Certificate program is designed to give students entry level skills and knowledge of pastries and baking production. The Baking Associate of Technical Arts (ATA) degree program began in August 2011 and builds on the content from the Baking Certificate, with an emphasis on specialty baking and pastry skills.
